"Dense cover inhibits access along the brook in this area. Therefore we chose a 50 foot segment to survey where the bridge crosses the powerline. A small wooden foot bridge over the brook provides an easy approach to either bank. As typical, the power company controls the height of the vegetation along its easement. Beyond the easement width mature trees and shrubs, green briar and vines protect the watershed. There is no sign of environmental impact to the brook by the powerline construction. However we do not know if herbicides are used for vegetation control. Warm weather with the growing season may provide opportunity to observe signs of wildlife and macroinvertebrates."

"The stream flows quickly in this segment. There were several pools and riffles. The stream was highly habitable. Its wetlands with small trees and shrubs were good habitat as were the few fallen trees in the stream. The bottom of the stream consisted mainly of organic matter, cobbles, and boulders. The water was of good color and clarity. It is unkown as to whether this land is already protected otherwise it should be (it is partially conservation land). It is accessible by walking only."
