Hicks Swamp

Otherwise known as the "Red Maple Swamp" this large wetlands resides between Stockbridge Road and Country Way and is full of interesting water features and habitat.

It supplies Tan Brook and Clapp Brook, tributaries to Old Oaken Bucket Pond. The old Greenbush rail bed splits Hick Swamp and serves as a corridor for hikers and wildlife. A path off the East side of the rail bed leads to a mounded abandoned landfill for scenic views of the area.
