Wetland Supermarket
with Fred SaintOurs and Garry VanWart
The world of insects, both on land and water, was explored by the students. Mr. SaintOurs, an entomologist, demonstrated collection techniques and data management. Aquatic species collected by Mr. VanWart were identified and studied. Several insects found along the Watershed Education Trail, including an unusual damselfiy occurrence, were caught and observed. Mr. SaintOurs described the basics of bio-monitoring and the relationship of stream insects and riparian life to water quality.
